Moral injury does not manifest in corporeal responses such as hyper startle reactions that you see in PTSD. Moreover, PTSD and moral injury tend to be comorbid, not casual. This is not to say that an external stimuli, such as a bomb blowing up a market doesn’t cause one to think or repress thoughts like “what the hell are we doing here?” of course one can stimulate the other, but that a is not caused by b.
