Remote (drone) Warfare and Moral Injury

Today brings two stories involving moral injury : both exploring drone warfare and the moral dilemma of killing without offering mutual combat, ie where one party is in no danger whatsoever.

The first is a monolog about an ace pilot forced into a drone billet and the moral conundrum they face. It’s only in Annapolis area through the 20th of August.

The other is a book about moral injury and being a drone pilot. A review can be found here :https://thestrategybridge.org/the-bridge/2023/8/2/reviewing-is-remote-warfare-moralhttps://thestrategybridge.org/the-bridge/2023/8/2/reviewing-is-remote-warfare-moral

I have long posited that drone warfare for operators would cause longitudinal problems reconciling this very real problem of killing by remote control. Where is the honor? What dragon is the Knight slaying?

It seems this has finally come home to roost.
