REBOOT Combat Recovery

I hadn’t heard of this program until I read this story The story indicated that the classes are held at San Antonio’s University United Methodist Church so I assumed it was a faith based approach. Turns out, my assumption was correct inasmuch that REBOOT describes their program as:

REBOOT Combat Recovery is our 12-week faith-based trauma healing course designed to help combat veterans and their families recover from the spiritual and moral wounds of war. Since 2011, thousands of REBOOT graduates have seen their hope restored and lives transformed.

I was pretty excited to learn more about what their program entails to see how much overlap there was between the Institute’s classes available here and their offerings. Unfortunately, their website is information light so I was unable to view their offering. I have reached out via email to see if they are interested in cross-pollinating data and their approach. I will update this post if they respond.

If you are at this website reading because you are a veteran seeking help and are looking for a faith based approach, their approach may appeal to you. This institute takes a more nuanced approach to the spiritual component of moral injury without appealing to any particular religious creed or tradition–this is by design as our core mission is research and education.
